Elaste 3 Delivers

The third Elaste compilation picks up right where the first two left off by continuing the deep crate digging for rare and unheard of funk and disco tunes that time forgot and half the world never heard of. Needless to say, Elaste: Super Motion Disco is a treasure trove of essential tunes that any afficianado of disco and funk will find as a godsend of dance floor goodness.

The fourteen songs that make up Elaste: Super Motion Disco vary from spacial funkiness to angular post punk to straight forward boogie jams that would have had more polyester in motion than John Travolta could have ever dreamed of. Many of the songs here, while approaching several years old, still sound crisp and sound like classic early, early house tunes fresh out of the box.

Many of the songs here are vocal tracks that sound organic and groove like a troop of bass players running loose on a dance floor. There are so many bass lines on Elaste: Super Motion Disco that hit you from all sides while bongos, electronics, beats, and funky vocals force your feet spasm whether or not you like disco or not. From the ridiculously grooveladen, "Urth," by Moebius to the chaotic disco frenzy of, "Beuys Boys" by Pollyester Elaste: Super Motion Disco is like having a portable club in your home.

With so many unheard of artists, including Queen Samantha, Mythos, The Deep Fix Elaste: Super Motion Disco is a collectors dream come true, this is an album about discovery as well as dancing. If you were around in the 70's, 80's and 90's Elaste: Super Motion Disco is like déjà vu all over again. For those of you younger, if you wonder where all that crazy electro and post punk you listen to originated from, this is where it all began and you should listen to this to gain insight to how dance music has evolved into the bleeping banging monster it is today.
