The Americans And The White EP

The Americans six song EP entitled The White EP is a short but sweet blast of jangly 60's tinged pop that sounds something like a classic rock record dabbling it vats of Scissor Sisters songs. With bass lines that are almost too discotastic for their own good, piano keys plunking, horns blazing and enough syrupy choruses to draw ants, The Americans sound as if they walked out of an episode of original songs from Glee. Even their slower tunes keep up this overly happy feeling and come off sounding something like a bizarre 70’s pop combination that's like a constant ray of sunshine.

This record is so joyous and upbeat that it's just about impossible not to like. The White EP is peppy enough to bring even the most depressed introverted individuals out of their shell and put a smile on their face. The Americans have come up with a early fall stomp that should have soundtracked our entire summer not the end of it. This is the sound of happiness on overdrive and a band so well chuffed that it's infectious. The Americans have truly outdone themselves here...after listening to The White EP you can't help but either a) repeat the process or b) demand that they hurry up and release a full length. I myself am choosing to do both.
