Valient Thorr Are No Strangers

If you've ever wondered what real metal is, Valient Thorr are here to answer the question for you. This bunch of bearded rock and roll freaks have no fear and enough facial hair to make ZZ Top's beards look microscopic and more riffs per song than every other band ever. This is a band fueled by denim, Zakk Wylde, Iron Maiden, and enough whiskey to make Kentucky seem dry. These guys know how to rock more than rocks do and their album Stranger, is the sound of five guys who don't take showers, drink cases of Jack Daniels, pick up instruments and strangle them into dirty thrashy metal.

Valient Thorr mangle riffs and screams into something resembling sleazy drunken noise that involves the wanton slaughter of everything in their path. Sounding remarkably like the best band from the New Wave of British Heavy Metal that showed up to the party thirty years too late, Valient Thorr has that classic metal sound running through their veins like it was their life blood. It's such a classic that Stranger is the sort of album that has sweat, whiskey, and blood spilled all over it. With raised fists, feet on monitors and guitars ablaze VT fly thorough this epic record at such a rapid rate they almost sound as if they want to be a thrash band.

Speedy, deadly, and a throwback to the days when metal by Iron Maiden and Judas Priest was almost too heavy for radio, VT pound out songs like a Panzer tank division. These guys are a rambunctious bunch with the thrashy riff laden path of destruction to prove it. In other words, the songs are so metal you can almost hear the leather, bullet belts, and spikes coming out of your speakers; it's truly awesome stuff.

If you've ever liked that classic, proper, heavy metal sound then you'll love Valient Thorr's Stranger. This is metal with enough power to put JEA out of business and then some. Crank up the stereo, pour yourself a shot or twelve of whiskey, enjoy this energy alternative and lose your hearing in the name of Valient Thorr. You won't be disappointed.
