The Last Royals Must Last

If the Last Royals are true to their name...then we're in some serious trouble. We can't afford to lose people like this, much less the songs they write, because without them we're doomed. How do I know that? Well I just listened to their self-titled EP and I'm left feeling that the loss of such ridiculously good shuffly songs would be a devastating thing to our society. The Last Royals EP is a bit raw, a bit unpolished, but sounds kind of like what would happen if The Black Keys got in a drunken bar fight with someone like Owl City and got their rock and roll mixed up in sugar sweet pop.

The Last Royals EP might only be five songs long, but those five songs are like a pure cane sugar rush of pop music that's like the energy shot you've always dreamt of. With choruses that repeat themselves into infinity and simple riffs that impale themselves between your ears. The Last Royals EP is an amazing little record that screams, shouts, shuffles, and shakes its way through each of the five songs here. Long Live the Last Royals because without them the world will be a sadder less shuffly place.
