Dangerous Ponies Are Fun

Dangerous Ponies are anything but dangerous. In fact, this group is so un dangerous that panicking is the last thing you should do should you ever encounter them. Covered in rainbows and face paint, this Philadelphia troupe does nothing but bring rays of sunshine to the grey and grim Philly cityscape.

Psychedelic, poptastic, and so happy you have to wonder what they're on, Dangerous Ponies sound just like all those old Elephant Six bands used to. Twisted, 60's influenced indie pop is what populates their self-titled album and one can't help but wear a smile on your face while listening to this jaunty little record. Jangly guitars ring, multi-part harmonies sigh, and the band skips and dances their way through this thirteen song excursion into pop bliss. This is a band that's simply having too much fun and aren't afraid to show it. This is party music for parties involving unicorns, dragons, and other magical beasts...it's skippy, happy pop music that's so fantastical it's almost hard to believe it's real.

Dangerous Ponies is probably the cheeriest thing in the City of Brotherly Love. If more people were in the Dangerous Ponies, going to Eagles games might not be an adventure in survival. Here's hoping...in the mean time, pick up Dangerous Ponies and prepare to be happy...this band won't have it any other way.
