Warm Ghost's Uncut Diamond EP is the sound of being in a coma. This hazy, ethereal, six song record is the sound of most of the Projekt Records catalog crashing into one another. Listening to this is like hearing LoveLiesCrushing and His Name Is Alive collaborating in the afterlife. The six songs here waft by like a floaty cloud of oxygen barely there but essential for life. It's a strange distorted and obtuse record with barely there vocals; barely there instrumentation and an overwhelming sense that the only way to enjoy this record is to be...barely there.
Most of Uncut Diamond lacks any sort of predefined song structure or pop sensibility. This is the sound of your sub-consciousness playing itself out with the aid of a band. It's experimental, beautiful stuff that will haunt you just like the title says. This is the past catching up with your memory and leaving you in tears. Warm Ghost is the sound of regret vaporized and given a voice. It's fragility and elegance is what makes this record an enjoyable listen and why Uncut Diamond is a diamond in the ethereal rough
