Wow...the times they are a changin’, well at least in Sarah Perrotta's world. This gifted singer songwriter has taken her rather gorgeous voice in a completely different direction on her second album, Tonight, and it's an awesome thing. From quiet singer songwriter, to full on band under the name Perrotta, Sarah's upped the ante and created one heck of a record that literally had me double checking the cover a couple of times.
Tonight isn't a singer songwriter record, oh no, it's a proper rock and roll album that while still smoky and seductive has a kick to it that will leave you stunned. While Sarah Perrotta's voice is as charming as ever, the fact that she's allowed it to shine along with a band is stunning. I think this works for her in every aspect. The band and its sound gives her voice something to soar over and around. From bluesy torch songs, to full on emotive and moody tunes It’s all here and quite honestly, who knew she had all this in her?
I'm not sure what caused her to change directions, but after listening to Perrotta's Tonight I'm glad she did. She and her band have kicked some serious butt here and her ability to make her voice suit any situation is truly amazing. The girl's got talent, her band has talent, and her record is awesome. If you love vocal fireworks with a great band backing it up you'll love Perrotta.
