The Green View Assimilates

The Green View's Assimilation EP is really not an EP. This eight song album is chock full of post-grunge modern adult alternative that sounds like all your radio favorites repackaged for your convenience. It's not bad for what it is, and while I'm not a big fan of this kind of radio friendly fare I can certainly appreciate their raw bluesy rock and roll formula that alternates male and female vocalists with ease.

The Assimilation EP while attempting to assimilate into the mainstream with reckless rock and roll abandon lends itself to just enough uniqueness to keep it entertaining for those who seek a bit more. The mixing of vocalist really gives The Green View the ability to create diverse songs that suit each of the singers be it male or female. I much prefer the vocals of Ashley Ferguson to her counterpart Zach Spaulding simply because she seems to tap into a raw vibe that gives her songs the grit they need in order to rock. Overall though, Assimilation EP isn't too shabby for what it is. While I prefer things a bit more left of center, The Green View could easily conquer the globe with their diverse rock and roll concoction and seek what they so desperately seem to want...assimilation into the mainstream.
