Architecture In Helsinki

Architecture In Helsinki's latest album Moment Bends took four years to complete and judging by the music contained within it has been worth waiting for. Moment Bends is an album that's obsessed with pop music and influenced by so many different sounds it's hard to nail any one thing down. Sounding part 80's synth pop, 00's electro, and 90's indie pop Architecture In Helsinki have clearly been surrounded by a lot of music over the last four years and thankfully all the best stuff has rubbed off on them.

Moment Bends is a manic pop thrill that throws itself out on to the dance floor and has the time of its life while it's out there. This is an unabashed pop album that has hypnotizing hooks, sugary sweet choruses and a Disney Pop approach that is all but impossible to ignore. Architecture in Helsinki have taken commercial pop and roughed it up just a bit and then retooled it in theirimage. The results are stunning as Moment Bends is so ridiculously good that it's difficult not to listen to this on repeat. This is an immediate kind of record that takes control right from the start and doesn't let go...EVER.

You get the sense in listening to Moment Bends that this is the record that Architecture In Helsinki have always threatened to make but were unable to make it until now. Thankfully they seized the opportunity and made a record so huge that if it doesn't wind up on my Top 25 for 2011 I've got issues.
