Trackademics Says Enjoy What You Do
Trackademics single Enjoy What You Do has instant anthem written all over it and that's not bad for your first official release for Fools Gold. Having made the mixtape and remix circles over the last year or so it seemed only appropriate that he released something on the mega-essential label.
Their single, Enjoy What You Do is an all out monster that that sounds like one of the best electro influenced hip hop tunes ever. The song is so simple but so effective that your brain will melt at the sheer brilliance of it all. Wrapped around a simple drum loop and nothing more, the song is so ridiculously catchy that it comes with it's own vaccine. When you hear, "Do you enjoy what you do? If not than stop!" you can't help but agree and take the want ads with you on the dance floor. The tune is the very definition of how keeping something simple can be very effective. Flosstradamus handles the one remix and trip it out a bit more adding some more depth and feel to the tune by speeding it up and making it more house-like than the original. Is it any good? To quote Trackademics..."Oh Yes." On the Flip is "Topsidin," which is a beach side chilled out tune that's sunburnt, laid back, and as ethereal as a mirage. It's sublime stuff that cools you off after the "Enjoy What You Do," workout on the other side and winds up this brilliant single in perfect style.
Two songs, six tracks and one anthem. Not bad for a debut release from one of the more hyped about artists around today. My advice is pick this thing up and err, enjoy what you do.
