Jupiter One's Sunshower

Jupiter One is a band you know but have never heard of. They are a band quietly working in the background and crawling into your subconsciousness without you ever knowing. They are a group that has quietly been appearing across TV shows like Heroes, video games like Madden 08, and for products like Mazda leaving listeners wondering just who does that song. Now, two years after their debut album, Jupiter One are ready to answer those questions with their sophomore effort, Sunshower.

Sunshower puts to the rest the dilemma of what would happen if the Shins went all hyper on us. An uppity and spasmodic record, Sunshower is an album that is constantly in motion. In fact they're so filled with energy, Jupiter One barely have enough time to catch their breath because of just how animated they all are. Even at their slowest you get a sense of the anxiousness and jittery energy that this band really has. This is the sound of a thousand first dates rolled up into a record; it's a lot of fidgeting, nervousness, and fun.

A bit power pop, a bit rock and roll, and a bit indie pop Jupiter One never veer to far out of the melodic spectrum on Sunshower; they don't have time to. Most of the songs as are result are instantly aggreeable and will probably sound familiar thanks to their cross channel brain washing techniques. Sunshower is a neat record of energetic harmonies and songs that shine as bright as thier album's name. If you can imagine the Shins stuck in the 80's hanging out with someone like Cheap Trick you've got what Jupiter One are all about in a nutshell. They're a great band and Sunshower is a fantastically fun record that's as refreshing as summer sunshower.
