Radioboxer Put On Radio Drama

Trying to pin down Miami's Radioboxer is just about impossible. Much like the city where they come from, Radioboxer is a melting pot of diversity and culture all living side by side in some strange sort of harmony. And much like Miami, it works and works pretty well. With the philosophy fully embraced, Radioboxer in little over a year have made quite a name for themselves down south and with their debut album, Radio Drama they hope to spread the buzz to a bigger audience.

With an energy level equivalent to that of the Turkey Point Nuclear Power Plant, Radio Boxer are a kinetic musical force to be reckoned with. This is a group that is quite literally all over the map and has no problem with intermingling genres and languages as if it were all second nature to them. They fear nothing and whether it's a tenderly whispered ballad or a song that sounds like No Doubt if they were actually any good, Radio Boxer has got so much on offer it's almost impossible to find something not to love about this band. Radio Dramais a beautifully quirky record that at it's heart is indie rock but aspires to be so much more and nine out of ten times succeeds and that's what makes this record such a fun ride.

From the nearly Klezmer open to the hyper-spastic jumpy pop of, "GMV," Radioboxer come up with more sharp turns than most cars could handle. They never sit still and as soon as you think they're settling down they head off in a different direction. For most bands this would never work, but you can just tell by listening to Radio Drama that this is Radioboxer's nature; they don't really know how to be anything but diverse. It's awesome. While some might find it a bit difficult to get their head around, simply because of how all over the map they are, most will want to hold on for dear life as they listen to Radio Drama.

So few bands can successfully mold and shape sounds the way Radioboxer do. There is a reason why this band is becoming a hot commodity down in the 305 and all you have to do is listen to Radio Dramato understand why. From moody folk to funk to indie pop, this is a band that can truly do it all and do it well. Radio Dramawill hopefully go a long way in establishing Radioboxer as one of the most exciting bands to come out of Miami in a long long time.
