Dark Room Notes Love Dark Matter

Irish quartet Dark Room Notes have quietly gone about releasing their album, We Love You Dark Matter without much hype or noise. That's ashame because they take the over-weighted genre of electro in a more synthpop direction and wind up having more in touch with dark hearted discos than most of their contemporaries ever will. Sounding something like a combination of Echo and the Bunnymen, Black Ghosts, New Order, and maybe even Interpol, Dark Room Notes weave hypnotic, dark, and lush stunners that are perfect for a shadowy dance floor the world over.

We Love You Dark Matteris a beautifully played and incredibly haunting little record. Most definitely in touch with it's inner goth,We Love You Dark Matter is unafraid to take the grey areas of life and turn them into pop hooks that will turn your frown upside down. Dark Room Notes do this with an ease and a proficiency that's so often lacking in so many electronic albums simply because their priorities seem to be in order; songs first, dancefloor second. In other words, this is not just four kids and a bunch of synths, beats, and programming but an actual band that gels well together and are able write songs like, "Love Like Nicotine," and "Treetops," that display this talent oh, so well.

Despite having an essential record under their belt, Dark Room Notes remain the best kept secret in all of Ireland. Their knack for writing super addictive tunes and darkened productions only prove that they can take anything and turn it into a song that you'll have a hard time forgetting. We Love You Dark Matterreally excels on every level and truly has it all; danceabilty (check), stupidly good songs (check), well produced (check), turning darkness into light (check). This is the sort of record by about the third song your hooked and by about the tenth you'll want to listen to it again. They don't make many records like that anymore, but Dark Room Notes' We Love You Dark Matter is one of the few. Bloody essential.
