Abstract Rude Get Some Rejuvenation
With connections dating back to the Beastie Boy's Grand Royal label, Abstract Rude was a scene mainstay at the Good Life Cafe in LA, an early stomping ground for such luminaries as Jurassic Five and Freestyle Fellowship in the 90's. Now over a decade later, Abstract Rude continues to be busy as part of the A-Team w/Aceyalone, Haiku D'Etat, Project Blowed, and the interpretive dance group Abstract Tribe Unique. It's quite surprising then that he managed to find enough time to release his Rhymesayers Entertainment debut release: Rejuvenation.
Abstract's diverse background and exposure has led him to create rhymes and songs that are intelligent, funky, and so well constructed these songs are worth more than their weight in gold. Rejuvenation is progressive thought provoking hip hop that's centered around funky beats and jazzy grooves. Sounding at times like Ice-T armed with encyclopedia's, Abstract Rude weaves words together into a tapestry of stories and images that will keep your brain busy while the grooves move you to the beat of a different drummer.
While Rejuvenation may not be as instantly accesible as most commercial hip hop; its, dare I say it, abstract take on things makes more of an impact in the long run simply because these tunes are not disposable as much of the commercial stuff that's out there. From the positivity of, "Thynk Eye Can," to the programming run down of, "TV Show," Rejuvenation is fantastic stuff at the end of the day that's positive, alert and filled with intellect. Abstract Rude is another feather in the cap of Rhymesayers who are building one of the most solid stables of hip hop talent in the world today.
