A-Trak Heads To Infinity

A-Trak, the Montreal-born, Brooklyn-based DJ/Producer will release his highly anticipated mix album Infinity +1on April 14th on Thrive Records. Known for producing so many ridiculously good remixes and original productions it only seems fitting that he completes the trilogy and release a mix album of epic proportions that is his own. I mean after winning multiple DMC championships and conquering the world it only makes sense. But the question you're probably asking is, is it up to snuff? The answer to that would be...oh heck yeah.

A-Trak is a one man funk machine and whether he's behind the mixing console or behind the decks, this guy brings his A game all the time. Infinity +1is an up front funky, electro, house, hip hop tinged dance floor masterpiece. If ever there was a record that could cause dance floor mayhem this would be it. It's an unbelievable mix that hits the ground running and never slows down.

It's evident in the way that he slices and dices tracks that his sole goal here is to make you and your feet have fun. He does a pretty good job of that throughout the mix. His segueing between records is so seamless and effortless that you couldn't sew two records any tighter together. Songs just flow in and out of each other so quickly that to the untrained ear Infinity +1will sound like one really long song. That being said, his song selection is hotter than the sun and features a host of exclusives, label tracks from his label Fools Gold, and a few classics. When MSTRKRFT lands in the mix with Bounce and the refrain of "All I Do Is Party," blows up the dance floor you had best be doing what the song says because A-Trak expects nothing less.

Inifinity +1 is a master class in the art of beatmixing and A-Trak has just about outdone himself here. From song selection to edits, scratching, and mixing he's just unbelievable and I'm going to be hard-pressed to find a better mix record this year. Absolutely essential.
