Thunder, Thunder, Thunderheist

Grahm Zilla had no idea the accidental upload of a remix he was working on would effect his future the way it did. Luckily the accidental recipient, Isis, took this mistake as a call to arms and returned the tracks filled anywhere there were gaps with swagger-laden raps and soulful singing. It was at that point that Thunderheist was born. Since then the band has been swept up in a frenzy of publicity and acclaim without actually having an official release to promote. The craziness should only get worse with the release of their debut album, Thunderheist.

Thunderheist is a mind-numbingly, brilliant banger of a record and Thunderheist so effortlessly mixes hip hop, booty, and electro into an adrenaline pumped dance-floor frenzy that lesser producers of the genre should just give up. It's crazy to think how simple but effective this duo's tunes are but here they are blowing out bass-bins with suggestive and rude songs that your feet can't help but contort to.

At times sounding like something straight out of Miami around the late 80's in a bar fight with some sort of Brooklyn electro hipster collective, Thunderheist cross space and time with bouncing bass tunes that are quite simply timeless. From the Kraftwerkian breaks of, "Bubblegum," to the massive club banger in the making, "Cruise Low," Thunderheist is a sleazy trip across the dance floor that will titillate, shock, and amaze.

This is a record that will blow out woofers, push sound systems to the limit, and deafen practically everyone who listens to it. It's brilliant use of bass and sub-bass is a blast back to my growing up in Miami and makes the record thump harder than a rabid pack of a thousand rabbits.

I love this record. It's the best of everything in electronic music right now. It's bass heavy, stupidly catchy, ready for the floor, and packed with banger after banger. It might only be March but Thunderheist is already one of the best electronic records of the year. Absolutely essential stuff for your car, DJ box, or Ipod...you need this record in your life.
