CongoRock's Runark

What would happen if a Dig Dug arcade game went on a murderous rampage? I'm not exactly sure, but something tells me CongoRock might know a thing or two about that scenario. CongoRock or Rocco Rampino to his friends, is an Italian mad scientist fusing 8-bit, house, ghetto tech, and just about anything else to make music that sounds like an arcade stuck in the dead middle of a dancefloor.

His latest single, Runark is a insane gyrating slice of breaks, old computers, and floor guzzling bangers. Coming in at just under 25 minutes, this five song digital slice of pandemonium will have you searching for quarters, flailing around the dancefloor and the wondering why in the world is Ms. Pacman is standing next to you. Runark is pretty great stuff that while based loosely around some sort of early 90's rave concept updates things nicely with choppy, chunky beats that will jack your body. Add in a couple of remixes including one from fellow Fools Gold artist Jokers of the Scene and then throw in two absolutely warped out, wobbly, noisy, sampledelic corkers for b-sides and you have a five track single that is like having a handful of quarters in an undiscovered arcade...absolute heaven!
