Brother Ali and Us

Brother Ali's last album, The Undisputed Truth was a landmark album that was praised by critics and hip hop heads alike. With intelligent rhymes and bold beats, the album was spot on from the get go and made a quick impact within the hip hop community. While The Undisputed Truth undoubtedly established Brother Ali, it's his new album, US that should put him over the top.

Brother Ali, is a talent pure and simple and his rhymes are gripping tales of the world around him that bob and weave creating plot twists everywhere. His flow is flawless and his gritty delivery hits hard and hits fast over the tripped out underground beats that carry him forward. US as a result is a record that fires on all cylinders; from, "Crown Jewel," to "Fresh Air," Brother Ali never backs down and even when he gets a bit downtempo, his songs are still strong. It’s truly impressive stuff.

Brother Ali is truly a powerhouse and while his previous efforts only hinted at his greatness, USproves it. This is a very strong effort from start to end and once again Rhymsayers proves that it has it's finger on the pulse on the best upcoming talent. US up's the ante for the stable of artists on the label, and is most definitely the best thing Brother Ali has recorded. Packed with the best beats and the best rhymes, it's easy for me to say that if you're into independent hip hop then this record is just about essential.
